Pearl Jam’s new album intitled Backspacer will be released worldwide on september 20th. It’s still a long wait for inconditionnal fans as i am. But you can already listen to the first single taken out from this upcoming LP. It’s called The Fixer.

The video is available here and on youtube. An old school rock’n'roll video aka a simili-concert video. But it does the job as the song is if not fast perfect for live performance. I think it’s a good foretaste. If the hole album is made of the same wood, it’ll kick ass !

Noir Déisr, one of the most famous rock french band, has just released two new singles on its website. It’s a real event as far as the band was inactive for more than 4 years after its singer was convicted of manslaughter on his girlfriend, french actress Marie Tringtignant.

Bertrand Cantat was released after 4 years in jail and is still under parole.

Everything that made ACDC a mythic rock band is here: straight and simple beat, loud singer, Angus riffs. Not sure though this song will become a ACDC anthem but it sounds good and does the job. If the rest of the album is made out of the same wood, 2008 will be a good year for music.

If you are waiting for the upcoming “Death Magnetic” to come out on september 12th, here’s for you the first single that was released by Metallica on august 21st.

It’s called The day that never comes and with regret i have to say it sux. I’m a metallica fan for a long time and if the song is not bad i got to say it sounds like things we’ve heard before but not the best. Old fans should be pleased you would say. Yes but no because this song has no structure, it sounds like 2 or 3 songs pasted into one for almost 8mn.

Kind of strange and disappointing cause this apart, you can feel the energy specially in James Hetfield and in Kirk’s solo.

Let’s hope that the rest of the album (10 songs) is better.

Slipknot has release a promo single called psychosocial and i got to say it’s a real disappointment. It’s soft, flubby may be would be more appropriate. There’s even a guitar solo (nothing impressive) in the middle of the song !

Sounds just like a marketing hit. Do they wish to hit number one spot on MTV ? Hope their next album is not made of this wood.

Alanis Morissette’s new album was released in Europe on may 29th. The 34 years old Canadian singer’s new album called Flavors of entanglement contains 11 tracks.

At first, i was disappointed. As a real fan of the girl, i didn’t recognize what i was used to. Lot of room for keyboards and electronics with the guitar staying in the back. But after reviewing it once more, i finally found what made alanis what she is in this album.

Dark, slow/mid songs tempo but very intense with her so particular voice over it.

The first single track is Underneath. It is not for me the best track of the album. Judge by yourself.
